Dave Totaro, Chief Marketing and Government Affairs Officer for BAYADA Home Health Care, has been elected to the Pennsylvania Homecare Association (PHA) Board of Directors for a three-year term. The PHA Board represents the state’s home health care and hospice industry, which provides medical, personal, and end-of-life care to people of all ages in the comfort of their own homes.

“I am excited about this opportunity to join a board committed to providing a strong voice for the more than one million Pennsylvanians who receive in-home care each year,” said Totaro. “The next several years in PA will be exciting ones in which health care policy continues to be debated. I look forward to working with Vicki Hoak and other PHA Board members in representing the needs of our caregivers and clients to our legislators and policy-making regulators. I am honored to join a team of professionals so well respected by our industry and commonwealth’s government.”

Totaro oversees BAYADA’s marketing and strategic advocacy programs focused on legislators and health care industry regulators at the local, state, and federal levels. His team hosts an annual legislative day in Harrisburg and launched an advocacy website and ambassador program; together, these initiatives have led to more than 40 home visits and 134 district office visits and demonstrated that access to cost-effective, quality in-home care is critical to the health care continuum in PA.

Until recently, he served as a member of the Board of Directors of the National Association of Home Care and Hospice (NAHC) and as chairman and founding member of its affiliate, the National Council on Medicaid Home Care.
