BAYADA Home Health Care Founder and President Mark Baiada and his wife, Director Ann Baiada, RN, CRRN, received the degree of doctor of humane letters, honoris causa during a 2014 commencement ceremony for graduates of the Drexel University College of Nursing and Health Professions and the Drexel University School of Public Health in Philadelphia.

Each year, Drexel awards honorary degrees to prominent individuals who are distinguished in their field. “The University chooses recipients who embody the characteristics and values we seek to instill in our students,” said President John Fry. “Mark and Ann Baiada inspire our graduates to pursue excellence and innovation—to create opportunities for others, and to provide meaningful service to society.”

The Baiadas have been longtime supporters of Drexel University. Mr. Baiada previously served as a trustee for the Drexel University College of Medicine, and the Baiadas annually co-sponsor with Drexel University the BAYADA Award for Technological Innovation in Nursing Education and Practice, which rewards nurses for the innovative use of technology to advance the nursing profession.

“We are proud to have received the honorary degree from Drexel University, one of the top universities in the country,” said Mrs. Baiada. “My husband and I do whatever we can to support and encourage nursing—the most trusted profession. The world needs good nurses, and together, Drexel and BAYADA can make a difference.”
