On Thursday, June 22, BAYADA Founder and President Mark Baiada received the 2017 Martha Esposito Award from the Home Care & Hospice Association of NJ at a luncheon at the Stockton Seaview Hotel & Golf Club in Galloway, NJ. Baiada was recognized for his outstanding contribution to the home care and hospice industry and his extraordinary service and impact throughout his career.

BAYADA Division Director Michael Brown commented, "BAYADA always has been more than a business for Mark. It’s been his life’s mission to help people in need.”

What began with only home health aide services in 1975, has grown into a full-service home health care company under Baiada's vision. The company serves children and adults across the nation and in several countries with nursing, rehabilitative, therapeutic, hospice, and assistive care services. New Jersey, which is home of the company's headquarters, remains one of the largest service areas, with 25,000 clients annually and nearly 7,000 employees providing care each week.

“Mark is a pioneer in the home care field,” said Brown. “His leadership has helped raise reimbursement rates for caregivers and his vision has produced high-quality care for people who want to live a safe life at home with comfort, independence, and dignity, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.”

Although Baiada is preparing for his retirement in August, he is giving the home care industry one final gift. He’s transitioning his private, family-owned business to a nonprofit that he will steward as chairman. This unique succession strategy was created to ensure that the company will never be sold and so that people will always come before profits.

“My goal is that 100 years from now, millions of people worldwide will be able to receive home health care with the highest ethical, professional, and safety standards,” said Baiada.
