BAYADA CEO David Baiada has been honored with a Glassdoor Employees’ Choice Award, celebrating the top-rated CEOs in the United States in 2019. The Employees’ Choice Awards program, now in its 12th year, relies solely on the input of employees who elect to provide feedback on their jobs, work environments and companies via Glassdoor. Baiada is the only home health care CEO honored, and one of four Philadelphia-based CEOs on the list.

Over the past year, Baiada earned a 90 percent approval rating based on the anonymous and voluntary reviews shared by employees. This is Baiada’s first appearance on the list and is based on his first full year of eligibility since being appointed CEO in August 2017. BAYADA also received Employees’ Choice Best Places to Work recognition in 2018 and 2019.

“At BAYADA, we’re committed to cultivating a supportive environment that helps to nurture the special calling our employees have toward the meaningful work we do each day,” said Baiada. “This recognition for our leadership team, coupled with our other employee-led Glassdoor honors in recent years, shows that our employees recognize and appreciate that commitment to our culture. We are grateful for this honor, and for the incredible work our employees do each day in support of our clients.”

BAYADA clinicians are connected to purpose and Love What They Do because it is their calling. The company goes to great lengths to recognize and reward that commitment, with nearly a dozen employee recognition programs providing scholarships, incentives and perks. BAYADA helps to foster employees’ individual growth with a variety of professional development and educational programs, including residency programs, specialization and certifications. In addition to investing in employees and offering tailored career progression, the company also supports clinicians with workflow-streaming technology such as tablets, electronic documentation and telehealth communications.

Over the past year, Baiada oversaw the day-to-day transition of BAYADA into a nonprofit organization, part of company founder and chairman (and 2017 Glassdoor Top CEO honoree) Mark Baiada’s Lasting Legacy plan to become the world’s most compassionate and trusted team of home health care professionals. The move was designed to ensure the important work of the organization—guided by The BAYADA Way™ mission, vision and core values of compassion, excellence and reliability—will continue for generations to come, and that good people who are called to a higher level of serving will always have a place of value at BAYADA.

As a nonprofit, BAYADA has doubled down on its people-first focus and unique culture through educational opportunities, clinical innovation and technology investments and recruitment efforts and resources that will help support growth of new offices serving more clients in the more cost-efficient and preferred site of care: at home. In May 2019, the company celebrated caring for its one millionth client, and continues to grow through strategic partnerships with similar mission-driven organizations which will provide future growth opportunities for its associates.

“It’s an honor to recognize incredible leaders who, from their employees’ perspectives, exemplify exceptional vision, trust and communication. Glassdoor’s Top CEOs award continues to be more competitive every year, and I congratulate David on his achievement,” said Christian Sutherland-Wong, Glassdoor president and chief operating officer. “Today’s job seekers are looking for leaders who share their values and will empower them to bring their full selves to work. More and more, we’re seeing Top CEOs make decisions to shape the culture of their organizations to help recruit and retain quality talent, which has a direct correlation to fueling business success.”

When employees submit reviews about their company on Glassdoor, they are asked to rate various factors about their employment experience, including their overall satisfaction and other workplace attributes like senior management. As part of these ratings, employees are also asked to rate whether they approve, disapprove or are neutral about the job their CEO is doing. Among the approximately 900,000 companies reviewed on Glassdoor, the average CEO approval rating is 69 percent.

Glassdoor’s Top CEOs in 2019 were determined using company reviews shared by U.S.-based employees between May 2, 2018 and May 1, 2019. The final list is compiled using Glassdoor’s proprietary algorithm, led by its Economic Research Team, and considers quantity, quality and consistency of reviews.
