BAYADA office employees in Monroe, NC recently came together with family members and clients to pay tribute to three women who are so deserving of our Hero recognition. The Hero Program provides opportunities for office staff, field employees, and clients to honor BAYADA caregivers who go above and beyond to provide care with excellence, compassion, and reliability.

RN Division Hero Paula Price

BAYADA Division Director Joe Seidel joined the festivities to personally recognize Paula for earning the distinction of Division Hero. “Paula has been with BAYADA since June 2005,” said Joe. “That alone speaks volumes about her commitment to The BAYADA Way and the values we uphold. She provides the highest level of care possible to her clients and treats them with respect.”

Judy E, the mother of two of Paula’s clients, brothers Jeremy and Clay, couldn’t agree more. “Paula is our Hero because she just has the biggest heart,” said Judy. “There’s never a question as to whether she will be here to care for my sons.”

Paula combines top-notch clinical skills with the care and compassion needed to make a positive impact on the lives of her clients. She has excellent assessment skills and is well-versed in tracheostomy and ventilator care. When she is not with her clients, Paula cares for her own children, opens her home to children in foster care, runs a local daycare center, and volunteers for her church. She recently earned a master’s degree in nursing education and is pursuing a post master’s certification as a family nurse practitioner at Gardner Webb University.

“The greatest reward is certainly sharing in the lives of my clients and their families, but I have to admit that being honored as a Hero by office and division staff was humbling,” said Paula. “It makes you realize that someone is noticing what you do, and that quality care really does matter!”

LPN Hero Kimberly Hairfield

Kim earned her Office Hero honor thanks to her commitment to providing excellent care. She is reliable, always on time, and never calls out. She is a loyal person, always going the extra mile to keep her clients comfortable and happy. She has truly gained the trust of her clients and their families.

“I was very excited, yet humbled,” said Kim. “I feel like I was just doing my job. I love being a nurse!”

CNA Hero Katrina Caraway

Katrina has been a wonderful addition to our team. She shows great compassion and empathy to her clients while providing superb and quality care. In fact, Kim’s first case involved a client with a terminal illness who declined quickly and eventually needed hospice care. The client’s family shared how attentive Katrina was to their mother’s needs. Katrina took the time to learn about her client’s disease process and used that knowledge to offer emotional support helping her client enjoy her last days comfortably at home.

“To me, becoming a Hero gave me the knowledge that my clients are pleased and I am meeting their needs and BAYADA’s standards,” said Katrina. “This honor gives me the incentive to continue to strive to do my very best!”
