Funds will provide critical resources for clinicians to help fight the pandemic in our local communities.

BAYADA’s 30,000 clinicians are answering the call of duty in a time of crisis to ensure the organization’s clients—many of whom are the most vulnerable in society—are safe and away from the hospital, while also caring for those who are testing positive for COVID-19.

Donations will help arm BAYADA Nurses, Home Health Aides, Therapists and other clinicians with much-needed supplies, protective equipment, telehealth technology, and other resources necessary to ensure they can safely fulfill their community health calling.

Donations will help support the following initiatives BAYADA is mobilizing to respond to COVID-19:

  • A centralized warehouse to collect, organize, and quickly disseminate critical equipment and supplies: BAYADA’s first-rate infection prevention practices include the use of medical-grade sanitizers, wipes, and personal protective equipment such as gloves, masks, and gowns. To meet the increased current need and in anticipation of caring for more clients, BAYADA must expand its inventory, which it is actively sourcing from all over the globe at inflated prices and without reimbursement.

A list of supplies BAYADA currently needs: gowns, N95 face masks, surgical masks, goggles, pairs of gloves, hand sanitizer, protective barriers and disinfectant wipes

  • A multi-channel support program for employees: This will provide financial assistance, childcare needs, and emotional support services to an essential workforce that is greatly impacted by COVID-19.
  • Specialized clinical teams to offer extra services, like telehealth, in the community: Developing new and innovative community health solutions, including telehealth, which is not reimbursed by insurance, is essential to combat this pandemic, as it will allow BAYADA to take care of more people and maintain real-time connections in their homes. At a time when hospital resources are also limited, keeping as many people as possible at home is crucial.
  • Ongoing Education and Training: BAYADA is actively and continuously educating staff on the latest COVID-19 updates, including proper precautions to limit the spread of the virus such as fit testing, screening and assessments.

“At BAYADA Home Health Care we have a passionate team of clinicians, ranging from nurses to therapists to home health aides, joining forces to do our duty as a community health organization on the front lines of this pandemic,” said BAYADA CEO David Baiada.  “We thank these professionals taking on the virus in our local community, and we ask you to consider donating to help increase our access to supplies, technology, training and education, and clinicians.”

For more than 45 years, clients have depended on BAYADA to keep them safe at home, and the organization is now on the front lines in our communities, navigating this unprecedented health crisis and protecting those most vulnerable to the disease.
