New insights are advancing equity for home health care clients and workers

Philadelphia, PA (February 19, 2024)— BAYADA Home Health Care, a global leader in home health care, has published its second annual Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) Progress Report. In it, a summary of 2023 Goals and Initiatives shares some important developments from the past year.

BAYADA CEO David Baiada stated, “This organization was founded on a belief that everyone deserves a safe home life with comfort, independence, and dignity. That’s why one of our highest priorities is to address longstanding inequities in our health care system, for both patient populations and working professionals. Because access, opportunity, and representation matter.”

Highlights of the DEI Report

Overall, new DEI data tools are helping BAYADA to self-assess, to identify opportunities for improvement, to track progress, and to develop insights on the diverse needs and interests of various populations of clients, employees, and job candidates.

BAYADA’s latest Workforce Data tools give employees the option to self-identify by disability status, veteran status, LGBTQIA+, gender identity, pronouns, gender, age, and/or ethnicity. The spectrum of these identity choices is expected to broaden with the evolving needs of the BAYADA community, and as participation increases, serve as markers of DEI Progress.

Supplier diversity showed a steady increase in procurement spend with Minority and Women-Owned Businesses. A new BAYADA Diverse Supplier Development Program pilot is assisting diverse small business owners with the tools and resources to grow their businesses.

BAYADA is Driven on a Mission

The nonprofit’s mission, vision, and values statement known as The BAYADA Way is the compass that guides all corporate actions. Together with an inaugural Environmental, Social, & Governance (ESG) Report releasing later this year, BAYADA uses its annual DEI Progress Report to hold itself accountable and to understand its role in creating a healthier and more equitable world.
