Each November, the National Association for Home Care & Hospice (NAHC) celebrates National Home Care and Hospice Month to honor care professionals who make a remarkable difference in the lives of patients and the families they serve. During this month-long celebration, BAYADA Home Health Care is thanking its dedicated employees for enabling people to remain safe and comfortable at home, where they want to be.

“We want to show our employees that we care about them and the work they do, and that’s why we designated 2013-2014 as the Year of Recognition,” said J. Mark Baiada, president and founder of BAYADA Home Health Care. “National Home Care and Hospice Month is another excellent opportunity to honor our employees for their commitment to working with compassion, excellence, and reliability.”

During National Home Care and Hospice Month, more than 270 BAYADA offices in 22 states will participate in the festivities by hosting recognition luncheons, pampering their staff with massages and manicures, providing free educational programs, and distributing well-deserved gifts. These local celebrations are just a small part of the company’s dedication to recognize and reward those who maintain the highest standards of excellence.

The BAYADA Hero program pays tribute to care professionals who consistently demonstrate the company’s core values of compassion, excellence, and reliability. Each quarter, local heroes are nominated by their clients and peers, and the award recipients are honored in a local celebration. From the local heroes, division heroes are chosen. And finally, one national hero – an RN, LPN, HHA, and therapist or social worker – is selected, and each is recognized at an annual awards ceremony.

“This is an incredible honor from an incredible company,” said John Morris, RN, the 2013 Registered Nurse Hero of the Year. “This entire company is full of heroes, and to be singled out is just remarkable.”

BAYADA also offers a wide range of free continuing education programs, scholarship opportunities, and tuition reimbursement to care professionals who want to strengthen their skills and grow professionally. Financial bonuses are available through programs such as Talent Scout, which rewards employees for referring like-minded care professionals. In addition, ‘fun money’ known as BAYADA Bucks - earned for hard work - can be redeemed for items ranging from designer handbags to BAYADA apparel.

Baiada believes it’s important to create and foster a culture of recognition, which has a direct impact on client satisfaction.

“Recognition generates a positive energy that makes people feel they are a valued member of the company,” he said. “This energy has a positive impact on employee retention and the quality services we provide to our clients.”
