Salisbury Mayor Paul Woodson issued a proclamation to the BAYADA Home Health Care Salisbury office for receiving the prestigious Guardian of Excellence Award. The honor, awarded by Press Ganey, a national patient satisfaction measurement organization, recognizes home health agencies who reached the 95th percentile for patient satisfaction.

“I can relate to the work you do and I am so happy that you do it,” said Mayor Woodson, who recounted tales of working at a local hospital at the age of 14. “I am so proud to have a nationally recognized, award-winning home health care agency here in Salisbury.”

North Carolina Representative Carl Ford, who joined in the celebration, praised the health care professionals who provide care in the home. “I am glad to know there are wonderful people out there doing this kind of work,” he said.

During the recognition ceremony, BAYADA Division Director Donna Shelton awarded each staff member with a personalized certificate, and presented the Guardian of Excellence Award to BAYADA Division Director Melinda Phillips.

“Without a caring and dedicated team, we wouldn’t be here today,” said Phillips. “Our nurses, therapists, and home health aides spend countless hours taking care of many clients across our area. They are excellent at what they do and always are happy to do it. I am so proud of our team.”

The awardees included BAYADA staff members Tiffany Buie, Kacie Burns-Blaszczyk, April Davis, Charleen Dudding, Anita Frick, Susan Furr, Joy Hiatt, Sonia Lindow, Ashley Jones, Eric McAllister, Sarah McArthur, Melissa Miller, Robbie Pickrel, Linda Rule, Tangela Selvey, Catherine Shoe, June Walden, Alicia Wyatt, and Diane Yelvington

Phillips also bestowed praise on the BAYADA clients who took the important step of filling out their satisfaction surveys.  “Our clients have given us high scores for the consistency and quality our team delivers throughout the entire care process,” she said.  “It is a reflection of our unwavering commitment to providing care with compassion, excellence, and reliability, which are the values expressed in our company vision, The BAYADA Way.”

The BAYADA Salisbury home health office was also ranked among the top 500 in the country for Medicare-certified in-home care, earning a place on the 2013 HomeCare Elite list.  The ranking is based on an analysis of patient quality care measures, patient experience, process measure implementation, and financial performance. This list is developed and ranked based on publically available data reported to the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services. Out of nearly 10,000 agencies, 2,496 are considered elite.
