During the annual Maryland-National Capital Homecare Association (MNCHA) meeting, the Margaret O’Brien MNCHA Leadership Award was presented to BAYADA Home Health Care Founder and President Mark Baiada. The award represents the gold standard of home health care leadership and service in Maryland, and is given to a MNCHA member who best exemplifies Margaret O’Brien’s leadership and service qualities in home health, private duty, or the home medical equipment industry at the local, state, or national level.
“With Mr. Baiada's commitment to ensuring the dignity of the aging and disabled communities, and his dedication to humanitarian causes, it was our honor to give him this award at our 2014 annual meeting," said MNCHA Executive Director Ann Horton, MS.
In 1975, Baiada founded his company with a mission to help people have a safe home life with comfort, independence, and dignity. Nearly four decades later, BAYADA is a national leader in home health care.
Baiada's work as a humanitarian has been recognized nationally with such honors as the Cradle of Liberty Award from boy Scouts of America in 2005 and the induction into the National Association for Home Care and Hospice Hall of Fame in 2012.
“When I read the nomination description, Mr. Baiada immediately came to mind,” said BAYADA’s Baltimore Office Director Byron Boyd. “He leads by example and has built an exceptional company because he is the kind of person who cares deeply about the root of our work—people.”
Baiada attributes much of his success to the belief: “Think big. Work hard. Show love.” He also credits his company’s consistent growth to his belief in people—hiring people who share in his vision and providing them with the inspiration and tools to achieve great things.
