BAYADA Pediatrics Nurse Rachel Chu was recently named the second of four quarterly $500 winners in the BAYADA Drive it Home Contest, a yearlong referral-based campaign to recruit high-quality nurses throughout Georgia, North Carolina, and South Carolina.

“I never win anything, so I was really surprised,” said Chu, of Ashevile, NC. She entered the contest by referring a fellow nurse to BAYADA through an online registration process.  “It was really simple. Robin Cody, a clinical manager with BAYADA sent me the contest link.  I registered, and then emailed my nurse friend the information she needed to apply. That was it. Now a chunk of my summer vacation is paid for!”

Chu is a pediatric home care nurse with BAYADA. She cares for three children and loves making them as comfortable as possible in their own homes. Without home care, these children could be forced to live in facilities far from home. “I love the time I get to spend with them, and the opportunity I have to educate the families about how to care for their medically fragile children,” she said.

“Passionate nurses like Rachel are out there, and the purpose of this contest is really to find the other ‘Rachels’ who might night not know about all the exciting opportunities there are to help kids one-on-one in their homes,” said BAYADA Division Director Virginia Steelman.

Once registered, contestants can begin referring nurses to BAYADA. There is no limit to the number of referrals, so the more nurses contestants refer, the better their chance of winning $500 and the grand-prize Ford Focus.

This contest is completed. Thank you to everyone who participated.
