What is an Employee Resource Council (ERC)?

S00399_27081691_50th_Blog11_Web_Image_Pride-ERC_500x500px_V1Employee Resource Councils (ERC)—also known as Employee Resource Groups—help to create inclusive, values-driven workplaces where all employees can thrive.

At BAYADA, our core values of compassion, excellence, and reliability guide everything we do, as outlined in The BAYADA Way. That includes our employee-led ERCs that help bring our values to life.

By promoting diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging (DEIB), our ERCs help create an environment where every employee can feel valued—and every client can receive personalized care with a sense of well-being, dignity, and trust.

How does BAYADA’s Pride ERC support LGBTQIA+ inclusion?

Pride ERC’s mission is simple and powerful: to educate and support LGBTQIA+ community and allies by fostering authentic dialogue, creating safe spaces, and driving actionable change.

How can you get involved with BAYADA’s Pride ERC?

Any BAYADA employee can choose your level of involvement:

  • Ally: Show support by simply showing up. No time commitment required.
  • General Member: Join the community and attend quarterly live video meetings when you're able.
  • Core Member: Apply for a two-year term and commit to 6–8 paid hours of ERC work per month. Core members help lead initiatives and join monthly planning calls.

Each ERC also has a chair, treasurer, and secretary, who collaborate with peers and the BAYADA DEIB office.

Rennie Mackay, a BAYADA Physical Therapist and current Chair of Pride ERC, shares:

“We have an in-person Summit with members of all the BAYADA Employee Resource Councils once a year. It’s a 2-day experience where we brainstorm, create community, engage, laugh, innovate, and create ideas together. It really solidifies why we do all of this. It makes me feel valued, included, important, and proud that BAYADA is so supportive and has the values we do. The summit keeps me motivated and elevates my drive and passion to foster inclusivity.”
