Partnership with JobPath will fund tuition for 15 nurses, address community needs

Tucson, AZ (March 26, 2024)—BAYADA Home Health Care (BAYADA), a nonprofit, global leader in home health care has granted $375,000 to fund nursing education for at least 15 students in Pima County.

Tucson’s BAYADA Skilled Nursing office, which provides long-term nursing to clients across the age and diagnosis spectrum in the comfort of their homes, is partnering with JobPath, a local nonprofit, to support students pursuing Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Registered Nurse (RN) certifications in the greater Tucson area.

The grant to JobPath, which partners with colleges and job-training centers to support workforce development in Southern Arizona, will help cover program tuition, books, and other expenses to support those who might otherwise not be able to afford nursing education.

“Partnering with JobPath enables us to continue proactively addressing the future of our nursing workforce,” said Shana Kolman, BAYADA Skilled Nursing Director. “We are opening our clinical simulation lab to foster the comprehensive skills nursing students need for one-to-one, home-based, complex care that they won’t get in a traditional hospital setting. It’s exciting, important work that underscores our commitment to serve people in our community who require exceptional, specialized nursing care to live their best lives.”

JobPath will identify prospective and current nursing students who may be interested in skilled home care and connect them with staff at BAYADA for an inside look at delivering clinical care in settings where clients live, attend school, and participate in their community.

BAYADA offers nurses the opportunity to build confidence in their assessment, communication, and teaching skills, all while helping clients and their families manage their health at home. Nurses undergo rigorous, continued training and have the flexibility to steward their own schedule in a stable organization that is nationally recognized for its culture and commitment to The BAYADA Way®.

Recipients of the tuition assistance are expected to remain with BAYADA for at least a year following graduation.

“Communities thrive when all residents have equitable access to training and job opportunities,” said Ana Greif, JobPath Chief Executive Officer. “We’re grateful to partner with BAYADA to help future nurses on their pathway to success!”
